about kalynn amadioAbout Kalynn Amadio

I, Kalynn Amadio, being of sound mind and occasionally sound body, am a Renaissance woman which is another way of saying I am a jack of all trades. I obtained a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from the University of Kansas in 1987. I have worked as an electrical engineer for various firms in New York City and had the privilege of working on the World Trade Center, Rockefeller Center, Barclay’s Center and the Baseball Hall of Fame to name just a few landmarks. Professionally, I work as a marketing consultant, trainer and coach with small to mid sized business owners at the local level.

In addition to raising three sons and a husband (no that was not a verbal mistake) I am a 3rd dan (degree) black belt in the Korean martial art of tae kwon do or taekwondo if you prefer. In the summer of 2008, I visited South Korea as part of the US delegation to the World Taekwondo Culture Expo where I competed in the ‘almost old’ ladies division and won a 2nd place medal in forms, losing out to a good friend and fellow 3rd degree black belt from my school in Westchester County where I studied with Grandmaster B.M. Kim.

My passion has always been writing. And while nothing is stopping me from becoming a professional writer, I have never been brave enough to take that important step of relabeling myself. Rather than introduce myself as someone’s mother or wife, or as this firm or that firm’s professional so and so, or even the many times I have just been “Coach Amadio” or “Mrs. Amadio” when teaching, I have never had the guts to say “I’m a writer.” Since the only publishing I have ever done is self-publishing in professional newsletters or on the web. However, that’s about to change very soon as I prepare to publish my first book on social media for the Baby Boomer generation. It is a very exciting time for me.

Since 2007, courtesy of discovering that the Internet is more than a tool for looking stuff up, I have realized that my love for the technology, writing and my penchant for design has led directly to the one thing that allows me to combine them all. That’s right, the Internet and all its techie, mobile, social, SEO glory. Even computer code is fun so the whole thing seemed a natural progression.

I have built many websites and have many clients that receive my considerable expertise in making their online marketing hum. Also, I am always looking for speaking engagements that put me firmly in front of baby boomer business owners to show them how to harness the Internet for marketing and growing their businesses. If you want to see what I have been up to lately, feel free to visit the my corporate site at ikalynn.com.  That site, like this one, is a WordPress blog (and don’t you just love WordPress as a platform?) where I chronicle the Internet development stage of my Renaissance. bout kalynn amadio

    Hi, Kalynn,
Robert Shaw gave me your contact information. I am the (part-time [LOL]) minister of his church, the Chatterton Hill Church in White Plains. I have just retired from my day job, and want to work on more effective marketing of our church life. Also, I want to start a business at the church — Social Skills for Young Adults with Autism — and will need to market that, as well. We need help in becoming more visible! Are you taking on any new clients? ~ (Rev.) Bonnie
